If a digital game is on sale direct from Nintendo and is the same price digitally at other retailers, buy from the other retailers (unless, of course, if you have credit).
When buying direct from Nintendo, you only get gold coins based on the sale price. When you buy from somewhere else and activate it with a code, you earn full gold coins based on full retail price.

I get it. I was one of those that complained why a game that is x years old, why should it stay at the original retail price.
I finally gave in and bought it when it was at a "low" price of $40.
Having played it now with friends and family, I also understand why it holds its value. Because it's a great game to play... and it doesn't get old, especially when you play multiplayer. There will always be newcomers to the Nintendo platform; they will want to play a fun game that can be used for quick rounds, or build their status up through the tournaments.
So, yes, replayability is high, and at the end, it actually works out on the premium if you play it enough, either on your own, or with a bunch of friends; because it is pretty hilarious when we all get together and play, and the cost of the game is not really an issue anymore.
You can only play membership games if you are connected to the internet (and these too are games from NES and SNES only). So if you're on the road then you can't play them unless you connect online using the phone or car hotspot.

I WANT to save $ PERIOD so I am NOT going to take your meaningless input.
Instead I got me a Switch LITE Pokémon Dialga Palka edition for $205 after tax from Target.
$205 - $380 = $175 in price difference. Is that not hard to understand??
