Dick's Sporting Goods has a sale on fishing stuff right now, appear to be some decent deals. There are a few lower end Shimano Rods for 40% off, some Lunkerhunt rod/reel combos for 60% off or more. Just thought I'd put it out there.

Thanks OP. The Shimano Caius Combo for $75 is a good deal considering the reel is $80 by itself at most reputable fishing sites and received good reviews on TW. The Shimano SLX rods also seem to be a good price.

Shows $130 for me for the 6'10". The 7' is $90 incl shipping. Got one, let's go phishing

favorite fishing baitcasting reel or shimano caius combo? I have a rod in need of a better reel, but if the shimano is as good or better, having another rod wouldn't be the worst thing.

Shimano Caius. Check out the reviews on Tackle Warehouse. Favorite fishing is a brand of Monthly Tackle Box and Googan. I have not tried their reels yet, but it's hard to beat a Shimano even if a budget reel.

Honestly the only thing that caught my eye was the quantum and Penn reels but I don't know much about them. If I was trying to get one of those and still not spend much over a hundo I'd get a Walmart Berkeley lightning rod . I must say in the river my buddy's ducket rod had more feel than my expensive lamiglas... Don't know much about those either but they're listed
