I run these in stereo. Adjust the EQ to up the bass. Imo - just the right amount of punch. L/R stereo setup adds a lot to the experience. I was using a bose sound link mini. While these dont hit as hard... They sound great and fill a room better. Having used the sound link mini as my main music for years - its crazy how much i notice the nuances stereo brings to music.

Note for others - Google allows you to setup speaker pairs (of the same device) and choose which speaker is the 'left' and 'right' channel. This is different than 'groups'.

I grabbed this last week from Target for the same price and because I have a Red card got an extra 5% off.

So if you happen to have a Walmart, Target, Lowes cc (maybe there are others) that give 5% off I say wait as I'm guessing this will be an ongoing price point for a number of stores throughout the Holiday.

Or you can buy from Staples when the deal comes back like last week and use their $20 off $100 code. And then use $85 discover rewards for a $100 Staples gift card. So $85 for 2 Nest audios

Two of these for stereo worth it? Is it better to track down the Google Max speakers?

if you want to play music for free off YouTube music without a paid service you need a nest with a screen otherwise if you have Spotify or a subscription service then ignore this message

Should these be plugged in all the time? Or do they have in built battery to be charged?

I only have one of these so can't comment on stereo experience, but comparing the bass between this and Max, it's underwhelming if you're a bass person. Yeah it's not a fair comparison, but i was hoping this would give a little bit more punch for having $99 MSRP

Not even close. Pairing Google Max into a stereo is the way to go if you can find one at the FP deal prices.

If this deal comes back to Staples like last week, then buy from Staples. They usually have $20 off $100 codes and it worked for Nest audio last week. So you can get 2 for $100

Any electrician here? Can you use an old google mini and rip out the speaker and use the lead wires to link an external speaker? Basically turning it into a chromecast audio?

Just use any old Chromecast device as a Chromecast audio by buying an HDMI to audio converter for minimal dollars. Chromecast Audio not needed. Check the internet for more details.

Why would you need Chromecast audio or an HDMI to audio converter when you can just cast to these from your phone?
