That said, I've only had Arctis headsets for the last few years and love them. Had the Arctis 7's for a while and now have the Arctis Pro Wireless from a price mistake last year (though they were still expensive). They sound great though they're only stereo sadly on PS5.

I have the Arctis Pro Wireless as well but I didn't experience stereo only for ps5? I connected via USB and set the audio source to PS5 and changed the settings in the PS5 to output full range. I tested with Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima and the surround sounds was great. Am I missing something or are my ears playing tricks on me?

I own the Arctis Pro + GameDAC and basically don't use the Hi-Res function. You have to dial the knobs and change settings and it's a little annoying to be honest.

If you're mainly a gamer just get one of the wireless headsets instead.

Steelseries has been good to me. I'm STILL using the Arctis Pro Wireless' predecessor, the "H Wireless." I bought it when it released back in 2014(?)
Finally had to replace the batteries this year, but the headset still works fine. The swappable batteries are a life-changer.

Same company who produces Nahimic which has no way to be uninstalled from our computers (anyone whose mainboard has a Realtek audio chipset & is running Windows 10, you know what I'm talking about).

Have started avoiding SteelSeries as a company because of Nahimic spyware, even if it's a subsidiary it's still SteelSeries who have the power to fix it.

What should I get for my son's PS5? He has a pair of Astro A40+Mixamp that he used to use with his PS4. But Sony got rid of the optical link on the PS5 and the only way to make it work is by using a HDMI audio extractor. The problem is, I've tried three different splitters and they each had some kind of an issue.

As someone who owns the 7 and Pro, this may work for casual gamers, but GameDAC is a great tool if your gaming requires hearing well. I've set the knobs once and left it. Not sure why you keep having to change settings.

I have the arctis 7s, thought they sounded fantastic until I bought the Logitech g935 wireless. Much much fuller sound, deeper bass, everything was better with the 935.
Just an FYI for anyone interested.

I purchased the Artic Pro Wireless laat month and they are amazing imo. Sound quality is excellent, love the replaceable batteries, ear cups do not get hot and are very comfortable for long gaming sessions. Wireless connection and Bluetooth connection so I can use with 2 sources at once. All around highly recommended.
