I'd still rather continue paying $40 for Fios 300 over Xfinity 600 @ $20.
Perhaps you should change a MODEM, rather than a router?
Please be aware - these xfinity comcast speeds are not guaranteed, read the fine print, after paying for gigabit speeds for 2 yrs realized it never came even close, we were getting only 250 mbps I tried different routers.
Also if you have many in the neighborhood on Xfinity, it slows you down.
Lastly, when we went past 1 TB we got an additional bill saying we used too much, this happened for two months and I switched.

Although their Customer Service is much better than ATT

Does the $20 for 12 months require a 12 month commitment from the customer? Or could I use this deal for 5 months and then cancel without penalty or further obligation?

For the steaming device, it look like rent to you free and you have to return after cancel account.
Yeah, you have to return it if you stop service, but no rental fees. I revised my comment.

Comcast xfinity internet was once the monopoly in my place. When AT&T fiber internet became available last year, I immediately switched to it. For second year I even had a better price with AT&T internet 1000 for $9.99/month
when someone else is able to make profit at $10,

Hey, another thing people may not be aware of, there are free WiFi hotspots that you can use w/ Xfinity too, when you are away from home. No extra charge basically if you have their service.

https://www.xfinity.com/learn/int...-a-hotspot

Spectrum also has free hotspots.

I honestly can't even imagine how poor AT&T's customer service is if Comcast is better. I always need to go for a walk after talking to Comcast to bring my blood pressure back down.

I hate comcrap too!…paying them $110/mo for 800 mbps down and unlimited data……account in my wife's name…should we cancel and sign up in my name?…how can we avoid downtime?…so the best deal right now is this $20/mo for 600mbps?…could i add unlimited to that for $30?….to take the bill from $110/mo to 50 would be outstanding…
any luck switching without down time?

I got tired of promotional billing. We just have 50 Mbps with $10 discount for Auto bill pay. It comes up to $46 a month and we don't have to call them once a year to get a new plan. For a while they kept upgrading us for 'free'.

Change your modem. Buy a gig modem.
That may solve only the speed issue, but probably not. We have the comcast provided modem (3rd gen supposedly capable of 2.5gbps) and 800mbps internet. During normal hours rarely can I get anything over 500mbps. At night I can get close to 750mbps. Comcast oversells its network. Modem isn't going to do anything about a datacap either.

Why are you using so much data? People who use this for regular purposes dont worry about the cap. If you have excessive users or use alot of data, you should pay a penalty. You slow down the network for all of us. I wish they'd double or triple the cap penalty. I dont necessarily want you to get fined. I just want to disincentivize you from slowing down the network. The only way most people change behavior is monetarily. Would be happy if this causes you to switch providers to go slow down their network instead.

Whatever you guys say... Xfinity is great. Super reliable. It is never down. Compared to others in the area. Speed is reliable too always more than what you pay for
