Arcade1Up's marketing strategy is FOMO. Over the past 6 months since they artificially inflated the value of their 1/2" fiberboard arcade machines by increasing their cost up to $400 more than they would've previously sold for, numerous machines have been clearanced out at prices similar to what they have been clearanced out for in the past. If you're dead-set on buying one of their machines, it is what it is, but know that you aren't doing fellow fans any service by buying into the price hike. In the end, the only people that they're really sticking it to is their fan base. Paying their MSRP is like playing a dealer markup on a car - you're throwing away your money.

I agree that the cabinets in their current form are not physically valued at the price point they are selling for but I look at this way. Who else is selling a Killer Instinct cabinet for $700 (or technically -$50 for the riser, -$100 for the stool $550 for cabinet) I find value in that price point for KI. I've got 10 Arcade1UP cabs and I've only paid full (non-clearance price) for 3 of them. Got the rest for around $99 each.

I had forgotten about this game! I just checked my Legends Ultimate Arcade [atgames.net] ($500 from Sams Club) with CoinOPsX installed (free!), and sure enough it's there. Thanks for the reminder, but $700 for a 1Up machine is nuts.

I wanted this so bad, but this price is absolutely farking laughable. I'll wait for a clearance. At $300-$350 I'd have definitely impulse purchased it. One of my favorite arcade cabinets of all time.

I doubt this one will be available in-store at the retail stores for that crazy $99 clearance but I could see it dropping to under $500 online.

10 arcade cabinets!? You must have a ton of space. Why do you need so many? Does each game justify it's own unique cabinet setup?
