Can anyone speak on this brand? The 16gb 3080 and i9 or r9 was exactly what I've been looking for, but I've never heard of this brand.

Here is a copy and paste from Reddit, Google it to read more over there:

Tongfang is a Chinese ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) that sells their laptop designs to vendors around the world, so far they have released 2 gaming laptops with Ryzen H processers, the GK5N--O (15") and GK7N--R (17"), you can get them (depending on the vendor) with either a 4600H/4800H and a GTX 1650 (50W [15"] 65W [17"] - MN: GK5NP5O - GK7NP5R), GTX1650Ti (50W [15"] 65W [17"] - MN: GK5NPFO - GK7NPFR), or RTX2060 (110W - MN: GK5NR0O - GK7NR0R).

I've created 4 tables (based on region) to list all of the vendors I could find, so people can have an easier time finding local OEMs that are selling these laptops

Among these boutique Companies, Eluktronics is one of the most popular and reliable brands, with other notable being Maingear.
They are pretty reputed for last couple of years and their products are regularly reviewed by most popular and reliable YouTube reviewers like Dave2D, Jarrod's Tech, LinusTech, Hardware Unboxed, Own or Disown. RP15 and RP 17 are their most affordable Gaming laptops and those two models have been literally reviewed by every reviewers since 2020. Mech-15 is the highest end model for 15.6" which packs very powerful hardware in a super slim body but still retaining good thermal performance, without reducing the CPU and GPU performance.

Thank you, I was actually looking into buying a maingear from micro center recently, but I'd rather have the Ryzen 9 vs i7 for sure.

If you don't need Thunderbolt then in these Slim and Light Laptops, Ryzen is always a better choice than Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake. Intel's equivalent 11800H can perform very slightly better (5% to 7% at best) when pushed over 75 + W sustained power compared to Ryzen's 65W but those are only possible in thicker and bigger laptops or laptops with exotic cooling solutions like Vapor Chambers. Also, those take a huge toll on battery life, even the laptops with 99 WHR battery can't keep up with Ryzen laptops with smaller battery.

In these super light and thin laptops like the Maingear Vector or this Eluktronics Mech-15, I will also choose Ryzen laptops because these laptops have limited room for cooling and 11800H will be hard to cool which again will cause thermal throttling, resulting decreased performance.

Don't forget Bob the builder @bobtrades. But he's much more biased about this brand. Only spews positive things, more like a mascot than a reviewer. But I will say that you get a lot of computer for the money and it's more modifiable than the other brands. Thing you miss out on is the nice machined finish you get on Dell Alienware Razer HP Asus etc. Also keyboard is hate it or love it. I've tried them out myself and I prefer the chiclet style much more. Warranty and support is another area where it's def not at industry standard. That's why I usually just get my gear from places like Costco where I know return policy and warranty are great.

I did not mention him because he has joined Eluktronics as an Full time Employee, something like technical adviser or Design architect.

Can't speak to this specific laptop, but I bought a 17" gaming laptop from them in 2017 (I think). It has a RTX 1070 GPU in it so I guess it's from whenever those came out.

Had my first issue with it a few months ago when it was well out of warranty and after it had been sitting around unused for about a year.

It seemed like there was a problem with the RAM so I emailed them and they responded within an hour. After sending some photos of the laptop, they told me the RAM has a lifetime warranty with the manufacturer and should be replaced for free after submitting an RMA request. They also gave me some info on how to test if both RAM modules had failed or just one, so that I would know which to submit a warranty claim for.

Pretty certain they advertise US based customer support and it seems to check out.

Since you already got some helpful answers, figured I'd at least chime in on what it's like to deal with their customer service and I was honestly impressed with how quickly they responded and that the person responding seemed to actually be knowledgeable about computers.
