If they're fat they're fat. Good to fix lifestyle issues before they become lifelong liabilities.

Sorry just a bit too snarky I know.. but good to give kids a headstart on good habits, no?

Almost tempted to buy a backup. It is a great inspiration for going on longer walks. My son loves his, and we bought a second after we lost his first one.

Great, just what kids need; an apathetic eletronic device telling them they aren't burning enough calaries and they're fat. Brilliant!

Cheers,

No worries, wasn't as snarky as my post...

And I agree, but you can't fix parents who plop one of these on their kids wrist and think everything is going to be fine.

Cheers,

Is there a reason the big name watches don't have heartbeat monitoring while the $30 versions do? Is it unnecessary for a kids tracker?

It doesn't tell them their fat... My kids get a kick out of their watches, they like to show off how many steps they get, it's like a competition between them. Plus, it's a watch.

Cheers,
I got the older versions for my kids and we push each other to beat our personal goals each week. But I also agree, we've seen parents who think getting a fitness tracker = getting in shape.

Yup. Gamification is a good tool for motivating children. My son loves the animation, in which the characters start small and grow with more steps or a rocket forms fully and takes off at the end of the day, etc.
