The more I heard that term the less it makes sense. Like is it going to still play games at maxed settings in 2025? Yeah, no it's not. No matter what computer you buy today that's not going to happen. Are you going to be able to use the latest features introduced with RTX 5000? Maybe not, we can't know. Is the Ryzen 5800H going to be just as fast as Ryzen 7000/8000 or the next two generations after Adler Lake? Hell no.

Will you get decent frame rates some some fiddling of the settings and still have good visuals, good resolution with a 140W laptop RTX 3070? Yeah, you will. I have a laptop with a GTX 1070 and a 4-core i7-6820HK or something. It can't do ray tracing and it can number crunch like the latest processors, but I can still play games that come out even if I can't max them out. I can also do all my daily stuff without running into too many issues or slowdowns because I know how to clean out my computer and repaste when necessary so that overheating is never a problem.

Like what do you want/expect when you say "future-proof"?
PSA: use code DEALMOONS2021 for even a slicker deal! $1,501 out of the door (even less if your state tax is lower). Combined with 11% cashback, total you pay should be around $1,285.

1. In your browser, enable the Cognito Mode.
2. Go to the product link. The Lenovo website should pop up a $100 discount for new customer. Type in your info and copy the code. Use any email, does not matter.
3. Exit Cognito Mode and login. You can stay in Cognito Mode if you want.
3. Add product to cart
4. Add code DEALMOONS2021
5. Add ID.me discount if you have it
6. Add the new customer code copied earlier (note that it will only show $50 discount)
7. Make sure you have SD cashback or other cashback extension enabled for 11% off
8. Profit.

Thinking about ordering this Lenovo and canceling the OMEN Laptop - 17t-ck000 from this deal https://slickdeals.net/f/15376210-hp-omen-17t-ck000-17-3-2560x1440-165hz-i7-11800h-rtx-3070-140w-16gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-thunderbolt-4-1282-49-epp-store-ships-12-21-21?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

After 11% cash back, the Lenovo will be about $60 more. It seems this one ships sooner.

Thoughts from anyone with experience with either/both?
Thanks.

So if you factor in the 11% slick deals rebate, this comes out to be about $100 more than the Walmart deal. So you get an extra 1.5TB with this, not a bad deal. The RAM issue has largely been resolved as well by this point - I got my wife the walmart one and got new ram only to find out that the RAM the L5P came with already had the faster secondary timings.

So the thing here is really whether you value the extra 1.5TB straight from Lenovo or whether you want to take the $100 and spend it towards the SSD that you want (i.e. a faster one with DRAM or something)

People should care about that only if they want to use the same computer for more than say, 5 years.

For the 3rd or 4th time, yes Smilie

Overall, one of the best, full power machines out there, and you won't regret it (based on my experience).

Another poster in another thread said Lenovo is junk nowadays compared to what it used to be. Can anyone confirm?
Generally speaking, yes, but this is one of their gems.

Think this is the similar laptop to the 1399 Walmart one but with 1.5tb more hard drive space

Walmart cancelled my order for a desktop computer days ago. Don't buy deals from them, while you're waiting for them to arrive, you miss real ones.
