Will you get decent frame rates some some fiddling of the settings and still have good visuals, good resolution with a 140W laptop RTX 3070? Yeah, you will. I have a laptop with a GTX 1070 and a 4-core i7-6820HK or something. It can't do ray tracing and it can number crunch like the latest processors, but I can still play games that come out even if I can't max them out. I can also do all my daily stuff without running into too many issues or slowdowns because I know how to clean out my computer and repaste when necessary so that overheating is never a problem.
Like what do you want/expect when you say "future-proof"?

However I've ordered the Lenovo and will be looking to return the Asus.
1. Legion will have better cooling and so better gaming performance
2.. Legion has bigger screen and higher resolution, also brighter. 16:10 will be good for productivity use too.
3. Zephyrus is lighter and slimmer. However the actual thing looks nothing like the product picture. It's more of a grey, and the screen hinge design leaves a HUGE wide bezel at the bottom. You don't see it on the product page because of the angle. In actual person it looks jarring, at least to me.
4. Bigger storage.
5. Legion has ports out of the back. Which I like.
6. Legion has webcam. It sucks and I'll likely never use, but it's there.
With free and extended holiday return periods, I think I'll check out both and decide which to keep!!!

I just ordered a Dell G15 last night with i7 11800H, RTX 3060, 16GB DDR-3200, 1TB SSD, and the 165Hz 1080p screen. I used some AMEX points, got the $120 off $600+, and Mil discount. After all that, it came out to $1000, tax included (about $1111 without using AMEX points).
Which would you take? This for about $1350 or the Dell for about $1100?
