Although this deal has Thunderbolt and about a 10% better processor, IMO, I would rather have the screen and the extra 1.5TB SSD of the other FP deal on the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Laptop: RTX 3070, Ryzen 7 5800H, 16" 1600p 165HZ, 16GB RAM, 2TB SSD $1,664 + 11%...

I'm also not certain the Intel is a "Pro" like the AMD deal. I didn't see Pro on the Lenovo page.

Don't like the 1080p screen. Would have preferred a 2K screen at least. But everything else looks decent.

I feel GP66 is better in performance but this Lenovo comes with a better screen, thermals and aesthetics. BTW where did you find GP66? Is OOS at Costco.

Already have the GP66, going out as a gift, wondering if I needed to reconsider for this.

- friend of mine was very high on the gp66, just wanted to see if there was any reason I should go with the Lenovo instead.

As an FYI this code works with their higher end models too. I just applied it to a legion 7 on top of a veteran discount with ID.me - saving $800.

Oh man, I don't need it... but... it's so much cheaper than I thought it would be....

Believe it or not, that is what I like about it. I am upgrading an older 15.6 Eurocom job, elite at the time, with a GTX980M 8GB and so on, but with a gorgeous Sharp 4k display, the only of its kind with 100% sRGB then.

The problem is that 4K is jut dreadful for a laptop. The resolution is much too high to be usable, so everything is upscaled, and it has a distinct performance hit in such a mode. To speed it up, I would set it to 1080p, but then it simply loses sharpness since while downscaling a native 4k image to a 1080p screen might even be sharper, an upscaled is always worse. Finally, if you are gaming, it will fly, and fly for a much longer time if you get my drift. The issue with QHD and 4k is that sure, you can fit a lot more onto the screen, but that screen is still only 15-16 inches. More fits, because it was shrunk.

This is purely my 2 cents, but is the feedback of someone who had a 4k laptop. I wasn't crazy about the keyboard either, but that is another story.
