Maybe? I just searched my orders and I got 2 of this sheet set in neigh and some light green color for $17.50 and $17.99 from Walmart in September of 2018. $45 for the same hotel style 600 thread count sheets feels overpriced to me, even with inflation.
Is this even a good price? I feel like they used to do these sheet set sales for $20-30 for black Friday, now it's $45? Isn't that normal price for most sheet sets?
Pretty much correct. Pima cotton is basically the same extra long staple (fibers) that makes Egyptian more durable, and softer when washed. It's grown in US and other areas. The area around the Nile river, in Egypt is perfect to grow cotton due to the humidity, etc. The problem was cotton exports were very low for years in Egypt, this (and just bad business) lead the company that makes these very sheets (WELSPUN) to use cheaper Indian cotton, while still calling it Egyptian. So to be honest, I doubt this is real Egyptian cotton, but if they feel good and last, then I guess what difference does it make.
If you want real Egyptian cotton grown by the Nile River, look for Giza cotton.

I think you are thinking about the other sheet set that is on sale. It's called the holiday set.

Yes i usually get whatever black Friday sheets on sale at Walmart, around 20$. Just wondering if these are significantly better than those? Might give them a go and return them if not better than ones i still use.
Sateen runs hot and Egyptian cotton may no longer be what you are looking for. I believe now it's long thread cotton or Pima cotton is primo
I bought some percale cotton sheets recently and they are really nice. I think it's a type that gets thrown into the premium cotton category. Gets softer after each wash yet doesn't feel like it's wearing thin or will wear improperly. Seems like it'll last forever until it accidentally rips.

Yes this was $25 last BF, bet all the supply chain issues have impacted the prices for these

If it's real Egyptian cotton, it's a steal because isn't much Egyptian cotton any more.
