Hopefully something better than the unreasonable $2000 it has been listed at since launch

after the E series line-up (2017-2018) the sony' XBR lineup has been on a continuous decline in terms of full-array LED performance (zoning). This is a hot piece of garbage when comparing to rivals. Only Sony OLED are creme of the crop now.

Sony 75X940E - 256 dimming zones
F-J- paltry 76 dimming zones LMAO

Sorry to busy anyone's bubble.

Hmmm....

Using your methodology Sony indeed dropped/declined the amount of dimming zones for the E series
Sony 65" Z9D 648 zones
Sony 75" Z9D 800 dimming zones

Huge difference and lack of 3D as well after the D series....nod

It is a beautiful thing

On another note...the Sony Z9J is still the best LED out there right now

If you are going to be spending $2k on a Sony TV avoid their "QLED" models and go for their OLED line, which is not as robust in terms of gaming support but offers better color/motion processing than the LG C1/G1 sets

Agreed....A80J will make a cameo around $2500 if we're lucky around BF. This thing can't compare....and the "Rainbow Effect"? Try full screen color artifacts! If you gotta go LED, get the 85" X91J for $100 less at Costco. A third more real estate, and no Rainbow.

I agree QLEDs only make sense if you are going above 65" because Samsung's QN90A has a serious panel lottery issue and Sony's QLED are more expensive and pale in comparison.

It's doubtful that the LG C1 will drop more in price until next year's model comes out (supposedly a 42" will debut which will probably affect the pricing of the 48"/55" the most but only time will tell)

Id say under $1500 your best buy would be the LG C1 at $1300, that is if LG can figure out the HDCP issue in it's November 17th update.

If that doesnt happen the similarly priced Sony OLED ($1400) would be the buy for this Black Friday

I only WISH I could get an A80J... but I watch too much news. Burn in will kill my TV in no time. ☹️

I watch shows with still logos ie NEWS on my Sony Oled and no burn-in issues.

I actually had a burn-in issue with playing constant madden everyday where it create a score banner burn-in but i've learned to lower the brightness and eventually that hard burn-in went away by itself

Really? How much news do you watch, on average? How many hours per day? And do you watch every day, or no?

Which Sony OLED do you have? Thanks!

FYI, Amazon price matched and they have it at $2298.

I'm looking for a 75-inch TV (non-OLED) and have been considering this one and Samsung Q90… Is this the best price we anticipate or are there rumors of better deals?

I watch 5-6hours of Oled everyday mixed usage, madden being the highest lol

Sony 77A1E

Let me tell you and others, I have OLED and 75X940E (256 dimming zones)

If you are a movie buff, Streaming 4K content, NOTHING beats OLED sensation. And I am not talking about HDR/DVISION crap, i am purely speaking on infinite contrasts level and deep blacks. almost makes picture look 3D

If you care about brightness and HDR, I would recommend Full-array LED but not the J series, the Z series. 76 dimming zone will clearly show blooming and I can even tell with my X940E. No such thing as true black anymore after being spoiled with OLED

Also, both my tv's use the SAME 'Extreme' Chipset and OLED I do not notice any motion blur or frame skip effect. OLED IS BUTTER SMOOTH 100% of the time regardless of content. With LED, you will notice stuttering and motion blur in some complex scenes with the processing power can't handle.

Samsung Q90A better than this 100%.. I come from Sony X900f and I had the Sony X90f for a couple months. I got the Q90A and is amazing, plus the extra things that you can get from Samsung (Warranty and extra services)

The Sony A1E used an older LG panel that was prone to burn in
They are MUCH better in the last two generations

As for LCD...the world has really changed unless you include the flagships

For instance the TCL R646 has about the same amount of zones as your Sony X940E...and probably better motion control that it has

On the top of the line LCDs that is a different story as they have 500-800 zones

The Samsung QN90A is the best 4K LCD there is this year

I think OLEDs have great motion, but they have the same problems as regular LEDs. That is why they have the same motion settings.

If you ever watched motion on a plasma, you will know that OLEDs are far from perfect.
