You read my mind. I'm waiting for the 16G deal, if not, I guess I will wait for the M1 Max version of mac mini.

The problem is that's not a standard config so won't go on sale at a retailer.

Hmm, who wants to bet they will drop OS updates post haste? That M1 chip going through too fast evolution where the next new M1 Max xxxx version has hardware that isn't on the M1 chip and so no updates for you little man, next!

I remember well my $850 first version iPad, never again a first version anything Apple.

What about the unifying chip that will deteriorate with constant read & writes?

Amazon has it at the same price after $49.01 checkout coupon. I don't have a Costco membership anymore, so I may go that route.

Man what a great freaking deal on an amazing machine. M1 being so powerful in such a small computer, let alone it being Apple. This is a good year for apple, M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max… Intel pretending their not scared.

Can't wait for the next Mac Mini with a better M1 with support for multiple monitors!

After 20 years of regular use. Depending on your age this Mac mini might outlast you.

Best mac product for light to medium use at a great price! Small lightweight no battery to degrade. Bring your own monitor keyboard mouse. When it becomes too old it can be repurposed as an entertainment device or media server.

This 8gb model will beat any Windows product at 16gb.
