Actually I miss my curved monitor. I used to call it a gimmick too, but after switching back I realize what I was missing. On a big monitor its easier to work on a curved one.

You've got a pretty unconventional opinion there. Based on what I have seen, most people get pretty grossed out by the dot pitch on 1080p over 24", it gets pretty blocky.

And your definition of screen real estate is unconventional too - typically it is absolutely about how much can be seen on a given browser window, etc. This is a function of pixels and scaling, yes, but a 4K monitor at 200% scaling for you will look amazing, I use 125% and I can absolutely fit more work on my screens and have it be very clear than you could approach on a large 1080p panel like you describe.

1440p text on a 32" is a little blurry for me, but that's what I use for a gaming monitor and you're right, in games it's much harder to tell but it's nice not to play the 4K pixel tax!

I'm someone with a 34" Monitor and I regret not getting curved.

Curved monitors have got to go! Is there a noncurved one? Curved monitors are just a gimmicky like 3D movies.

I personally find the Costco deal for the 32" LG IPS a better value for money. It is not 4K but it is only $200.
Why buy 32" that's not 4k unless only for games and movies?
Doesn't make sense in 2021.

Not exactly, most graphics cards can push 4k even the UHD built in ones in laptops, but won't be able to run demanding graphic games at full resolution smoothly unless you have a graphics card. You will need for sure a graphics card for 5k monitors though even for work (non-gaming)

Is this monitor good or is something better than this at this price? I'm mostly concerned with the VA screen which I've had some bad experience that they don't look as nice for watching videos and movies. Any thoughts on this model?

Just in case anyone is on a budget...

1080 is completely fine for office or WFH use at 32". You may want a desk that's 30" deep (Ikea) versus the traditional 19" or 24" that you see with junk amazon furniture, but whoever is complaining about "seeing pixels" and it's unusable performance is jumping on the bandwagon or just a snob.

Sure 4k is gorgeous, but you really can accomplish office work, gaming, or movies with a 32" 1080p monitor. I wouldn't go any bigger than that. But don't buy the hype and think 4k is mandatory.

HOWEVER -- At $329 this is still a good deal for a 4k curved monitor. At $200 you can also get a solid 1080 monitor, or 2 of them for $400. Personally I go for real estate versus nitpicking if I can see a jaggy on a PDF that most likely has some sort of smoothing anyways.
I'd rather have a 24" 1080p monitor than a 32" 1080p monitor unless I was strictly playing 1080p games and watching media on it. 32" 1080p for text is not an ideal experience.

Also I'm not even sure what you're saying regarding real estate. A 4K monitor has 4x the "real estate" of a 1080p monitor.

It's not necessarily a gimmick although it is somewhat overused. From what I've seen having done a lot of research lately is it's primarily because the monitor uses a VA panel and is over 27" where colors and black wash out is noticeable. If you care about seeing clean images which is particularly pertinent in 4K HDR full color gamut gaming scenarios, it's desirable. It's also desirable for immersion if you want that monitor up in your face again for games.

I wouldn't care about it for productivity which is what this monitor seems better suited for.
