FYI - Eddie Bauer no longer has a lifetime warranty. Everything looks to be only a year now.

I bought this last year and didn't like it at all. The fit ended up being rather baggy and it was VERY thin. Just be aware when you buy this that you're buying basically a shell, not like a winter coat.

And yes—it did smell very bad.

Kudos to their marketing team, really never ever the walmart ones crossed my mind while looking at these. Must be the name.

Running loose, baggy on the end means it is a mass produced , not even tailored down to a more acceptable design.

I've had mine for two seasons, as well as other EB winter jackets. My opinion on warmth is, if you are standing around in the cold, I'd say it's really good for 32 degrees and above. At 10 bellow, I'm wearing the Superior Parka.

-10 seems awfully cold, I suppose it could work at those temperatures with the right clothing underneath, but if you are continually out in that cold, I would look for something else.

In my opinion, this is perfect for wearing in like mid 20's to 40's with just regular clothes underneath (meaning no special thermal underwear, just whatever you would wear to the office of dinner without wanting to sweat all day while inside with the jacket off).

For comparison, I bought this and the LL bean fake down that gets great reviews and liked this better, however, this really isn't for getting wet. It can tolerate a little moisture, but not something you want to wear in a snow storm or rain for Elbert long.
