Sam's Club sells the exact same Eddie Bauer Jacket for $34.98. They don't advertise them as Cirrruslite but they look exactly the same including the fill # on the left cuff. Eddie Bauer packable jacket

I was researching the sams and Costco versions of this jacket and many have pointed out that Sam's and Costco's are somewhat cheaper variants of the same cirrus lite. I have one ordered from EB. And have seen the Costco one and they do feel slightly different. You can find these cheaper though. No slick deal here.

So it's $20 extra for the hood vs the $40 Cirrus Lite that already went to the FP yesterday.

IMHO, people's neck and head geometry are all different. Not a fan of hoods vs just using hats/caps. YMMV but I don't see a 50% premium being worth it for a hood unless there are other features.

Sam's jacket not the same. Look at description of both. Sam's has down and feathers. EB is 650 fill down. They don't even look the same.

650 down is just a volume rating. Also almost every single down jacket on the planet is mixed with feathers. Higher end units will say something like min 90% down.

Look at reviews for the cirruslite and they mention 80% down just like sams.

I bought EB's First Ascent line down jacket from a SD deal back in 2016. It has held up until today and I am still wearing it. 800 fill (vs 650 fill of CirrusLite). I have tried both fill, and to me, 800 makes a big difference. It is 23% more fill.

EB still sells First Ascent line. It is more expensive but is worth it in my opinion if you want a light weight down jacket that can keep you warm in cold weather (I live in the midwest).
