This TV works very well as a computer monitor. Supports 4:4:4 chroma for crispy text along with HDMI 2.0 for 60hz. A GT1030 can run 4k well.

Much better than meme ultrawides that cost twice as much for less screen space.
I 2nd this! I purchased the Google TV version (was around $160 from target 2020 black Friday) and aside from some weird/occasional artifacting that is resolved with a restart, I've been totally happy with it.
All that said, it's a cheap 4k panel. Not the brightest, narrowish viewing angles, but good value.

considering supply chain issues, this is a decent price.

there are no 43" deals this year.

I've been using this 8+ hours a day for work for over six months, no issues so far. Don't use the Roku features, I assume gets laggy after a short while like other cheap TVs.
I have a 65" 4 series TCL in my bedroom that I've used for 2 years and love the Roku features. It has never gotten laggy. In fact, most Roku features on any device seem to work great whenever I use them and don't have any friends that say otherwise with theirs. What a strange thing to assume...

I 3rd this. I have the 43s425 I got last year from Amazon for $180. It's great for computer and Xbox with a 4.7ms response time. Rtings.com does not have a detailed review as of yet, but it's safe to assume it's nearly identical to the 43s425, and they have a great breakdown of its performance here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...eries-2019

EDIT:
I was wrong, here's the link to the 43S435: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...eries-2020
It's not as good as good as the 43s425. Response time is 8ms for this model.

Conclusion for 43S435:
This TV has a mediocre response time. Motion looks blurry because the response time is slow in most transitions, especially with dark transitions, which causes black smearing. This can be noticeable in games or movies with fast-moving content in dark scenes.

Conclusion for 43s425:
This TV has a great response time. There's some overshoot in the darker transitions, but overall, there's minimal blur trail behind fast-moving objects. This is a big improvement over the TCL S Series/S405 4k 2018.

Tried to get the walmart TCL 55" for $228, but FAILED.

This will have to do. Was actually looking for closer to 43" anyways. Thanks OP.

I am also using the Target 2020 43in TCL as a 4k monitor. Works great. I don't use Android TV or anything else.

I do get occasional blips on optical out but I have no idea if that's the TV or the amp, didn't bother troubleshooting as it's minor.

I "fourth" this. A bit annoying that I have to use the remote to turn it on in the morning (i.e. no wake from sleep) but that's it. Occasionally (once of twice a week) the screen will go black for 2 seconds. Don't know if this is the TV or the fanless GT1020 video card.

I've been using the older version of this as my work from home monitor for 2 years. It's great.

We've had a 43" TCL Roku for a couple years and it's fantastic. I used it as a monitor until I converted to a stand-up station (and 43" is simply too large at that distance) and it was great, then hung it in a bedroom. We even moved it from the bedroom to the garage during a tailgate/gathering which was super easy given its size (only 16 pounds, roughly). With that weight it can even hang on a simple Z-hanger creating a close-to-flush mount on a wall. The remote/interface/features are pretty spot-on for the price. I would highly recommend it to anyone, even as an affordable main TV.

Don't understand why people like this deal. $220 isn't a very good price for a 43'' considering the upcoming 65'' Element for $300.

Just grabbed one, had been needing a TV for the bedroom. Seems to be a solid deal at the moment for a 43" 4k. Saved a bit more with the discount for using AMEX points, so even better. Thanks.
