This TV works very well as a computer monitor. Supports 4:4:4 chroma for crispy text along with HDMI 2.0 for 60hz. A GT1030 can run 4k well.

Much better than meme ultrawides that cost twice as much for less screen space.

Hey just letting people know I have had this TV as a security camera monitor and picked it up for like $230 a year or two ago and have been very impressed. In today's overpriced TV market this is pretty decent.

Don't understand why people like this deal. $220 isn't a very good price for a 43'' considering the upcoming 65'' Element for $300.
When you look at it that way maybe, but in the case where you need a smaller tv for a bedroom or wherever else, the price for a 65" is irrelevant. Didnt see anything else comparable right now for a decent 43".

Plus the Element is a POS.

I'm in for one, ordered earlier today for the workout room. Good enough for that purpose, and this comes from someone who has a 77" LG OLED in the front room and a 65" TCL 6 series in another room.

TCL is solid. Their Roku TV's are great and worth more than they're asking in comparison to other brands.

I just wish there was a 40-43" Google TV version. Not Android TV- cause that's a laggy mess, just the new Google TVs.

I 3rd this. I have the 43s425 I got last year from Amazon for $180. It's great for computer and Xbox with a 4.7ms response time. Rtings.com does not have a detailed review as of yet, but it's safe to assume it's nearly identical to the 43s425, and they have a great breakdown of its performance here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...eries-2019

EDIT:
I was wrong, here's the link to the 43S435: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...eries-2020
It's not as good as good as the 43s425. Response time is 8ms for this model.

Conclusion for 43S435:
This TV has a mediocre response time. Motion looks blurry because the response time is slow in most transitions, especially with dark transitions, which causes black smearing. This can be noticeable in games or movies with fast-moving content in dark scenes.

Conclusion for 43s425:
This TV has a great response time. There's some overshoot in the darker transitions, but overall, there's minimal blur trail behind fast-moving objects. This is a big improvement over the TCL S Series/S405 4k 2018.

not an equal comparison.

rtings tested the 425 with a 43" https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...9/settings
and tested the 435 with a 55" https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...0/settings

they're different panels, and perform differently

The 43" panel is probably still made by AUO
and the 55" is probably made by their subsidiary CSOT

The 43" is most likely still a good decent performer

I assume they're talking about the 40" onn, in which case, no 4K (1080p), yes Roku

Anybody have any experience with this tv? Wondering if it's a buy at this price
I tried several 4k under 43inches last BF, I got a conclusion that just try to get the brightest, and choose the smaller screen size get the better pixel per inches...
I finally ordered and compared visio 40 inch model(for non-qled)and 43 inch samsung qled and they were the best I could select.
If I were you I'd prefer to buying the cheapest qled models this year has 40 or 43 inches.
these sizes are perfect for monitors also.

Use this link with your zip to see if there's any near you that's cheaper. https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=550751313

So is this TV worth it at this price? How many here could get it at that even cheaper walmart price? So that depends entirely on your zip code? So it being sold directly by walmart though? I know with amazon, it is.

I would only use this TV as a computer monitor. Thoughts on this? We have an old 42' LG TV from many years ago for TV but main issue resolution is 1080p and not 4k which is pretty big signficance which is why I never used it as a monitor.

Also got in on the target deal last year, solid as a workhorse pc monitor for general office work; email, spreadsheets, PowerPoint. Really big workspace to have working files and video chat session going at the same time

There is a new model 43S446 at Best Buy, I ordered one last week when it was on sale for $250, but haven't picked it up yet.
TCL 43" Class 4-Series LED 4K UHD Smart Google TV [bestbuy.com]

I expect it to go back on sale on BF or before year-end.

CSOT manufacturers 43" panels too according to https://www.avsforum.com/threads/...t-60888482

But where did you find out that the 43" TCL S425 maybe using AUO panels?
