Stores going out of business use rebates to lure in idiots who see low prices and don't follow through on claiming the rebate. Easy way to make people pay full price and then say "oops we lost your claim in the mail" even if the customer did file the rebate claim.

Maybe they know in the near future many folks will not be around to collect the rebate. It's the world we live in now. Does anyone know if Sam's will be having this in the Pyrex deal this year or not? I like the Pyrex lids just a tad better than the Anchor.

Just a heads up that the plastic lids don't last long even with hand washing. They crack easily.
