Consider paying with Paypal/Chase Freedom for 5% cashback
Canon Loyalty Program can provide you with 10-20% discount code

Edit: It turns out that:
- Refurbished items get 10% CLP discount only
- CLP purchase can be paid over the phone only, so one cannot combine Paypal and CLP discounts

For those wondering, these bodies are identical except for their low pass filter:
"The EOS 5DS R is a specialized version that is intended for photographers looking to capture the maximum amount of detail possible, and is best suited for landscape, commercial work or other specialized types of applications. Since the EOS 5DS R offers the LPF cancellation effect, the possibility of moiré and color artifacts is greater than with the EOS 5DS."

You have to have canon gear. It's basically an upgrade program. Call canon buy the item ask for loyalty discount. You will have to provide a serial number for "something" you are replacing. They used to require to ship them the old item but not so much recently

if you have an old canon camera, even a point and shoot, you give them the serial number, and you get the discount , 10% for refurb, 20 for new. i have done it several times.

You will need serial number of an old canon camera. If you want more details about the program, call the CLP number. 18664438002, option 2.

unfortunately, i have only one or two left, and am saving them for future purchases. if i were in your shoes, i would look for a throwaway on craigslist or in a thrift store, then verify with canon that they will accept that model, then buy the throwaway for ten or twenty bucks.

The 5DS series were great cameras, but it's hard to see investing more into the EF system these days.
