At least on the ps3 back in the day
Haven't playing control yet.
Demon souls and souls series are not games you can glide through, they are methodical combat analysis, you really are playing against yourself.
The beginning is pretty fair though, have you played any of souls series? Nioh? Ghost of tsushima? Check out gameplay on YT you'll see what im saying.
Its all about the roll, the block, the parry and striking at the right time,
