Since I am the OP I wanted to point out that Home Depot is offering up a Ryobi 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw for $179 (down from $219...no idea for how long).

Curious if anyone has any feedback on which saw they believe is better. I like the Ryobi (maybe because its design seems to be newer than the Craftsman). However, I have been a Craftsman fan for a long time (used to have a Craftsman radial arm saw and most of my power and mechanic tools are Craftsman...of course, with Sears gone, who knows what that means in the long term).

Anyway, any feedback appreciated. Thx.

One additional thing - The Craftsman deal is at Lowes (link at bottom of deal posting shows that). I tried to add that to the posting after publishing but have not yet figured out the new format

Standly Black & Decker bought craftsman from Sears put it into Lowe's, at beginning they want it be homeowner/DIY line with the power cable quality, nobody buy it at the beginning , come on, who need another new battery system, so, they add more Dewalt quality stuff to Craftsman with reasonable price, now I start to buy it this year, their brushless line is good. Not familiar with this product, I'd say probably better than Ryobi, I own a lot of Ryobi tool, they always under powered, if I start from scratch as DIYer, I would choose Craftsman over Ryobi.
