The inflator includes a 12V lead to use your car's battery. I leave mine in the car all the time but live where temperatures make for battery hell half the year so I don't leave a battery in it, rather I leave the 12v lead with it.
I thought batteries were only covered by LSA when sold with a charger or tool. Did something change?
Mine went flawlessly, no issues they sent my replacement battery quickly and asked me to drop off my bad battery at home Depot battery recycling center.

They did attempt a few troubleshooting steps, but TBH I'd expect that from any company.

I second this. As a matter of fact, I got on chat with them immediately after I uploaded the receipt. The agent on the chat was able to approve the LSA immediately.

I mailed in my LSA registration and receipt on 11/27 and received an e-mail tonight saying LSA was approved on my batteries. This was somehow approved faster than when I submit receipts from Home Depot online.

Overall, I was pretty happy with the whole process. Ordered on 11/21, received on 11/25 and approved on 12/1.

I also found that helpful as the chat made the final step easy and immediate.

I registered on line here: https://register.ridgidpower.com
Input serial numbers etc and uploaded online receipt from directtools (pc screen shot).
After several days, LSA got approved (I did not mailed in anything, just upload online order receipt).
Because the receipt is uploaded to Ridgid, you will already have it for LSA warranty in the future.

I just registered a ton off batteries and tools I got from Direct Tools for LSA, no issues with registering online then following up with chat the next day. Much much faster than my Home Depot receipt submissions that have been lingering for weeks!

One question I had is these batteries look brand new in package. No sign of blemish or imperfection. How does Direct Tools mark these blemished items? Are they supposed to have a special sticker/number printed on the tool itself? Or is that for factory reconditioned items only?

Reconditioned will have "recon" melted into the plastic somewhere. Factory blemishes are new items that failed some QC test.

Arrived today
Look brand new.
Submitted registration this AM, confirmed LSA this PM.
Really quick turn-around - seems like they have streamlined the purchases made via DTO.
Entirely electronic and seemingly takes hours.
YMMV on the speed maybe I just got lucky, but i'm impressed

Received mine the other day. Ridgid makes it easy to submit a screenshot or a pdf of your emailed receipt from DTFO to them directly from your account. No need to call them or chat with them. Couple days later, they were approved for LSA.

Mine took 3 days (not including Sat and Sun) but then again I submitted it Friday night (I received these along with other tools) that afternoon. Wasn't approved until Wednesday I believe.

Great feedback. Got the info I needed for the LSA submission online with email receipt (the one in the box from DT looked like crap). I did think it was strange that the batteries themselves were only charged to one bar out of the pack, I expected a couple bars on them.

If you go back into the Dashboard and click on the Action Needed icon, You'll see instructions to complete one of two below items. The first item has a "here" link. That will allow you to upload your email receipt and submit. It will then say it is under review and if you don't hear from them via email in 7-10 business days, please contact them. The easiest way to contact them is via chat after the 7-10 business days. They should be able to verify your uploaded email receipt and confirm LSA. This way you avoid having to send a certified letter with enclosed emailed receipt and printed out submission.
repped. That additional follow up upload receipt link was a little confusing.

Lithium-ion batteries can be a fire hazard. They are shipped on purpose with a low level charge, especially in these large capacity batteries. Just google ValueJet Everglades, FL crash or Boeing 787 Lithium Ion batteries or Tesla car erupts in flames. I'll personally wait until after 2025 when solid state battery technologies come online before purchasing an electric vehicle.

I bought this last week. We'll worth it. I would think it would last a couple months not being used.
How accurate is the pressure reading in the inflator? Is it off?

It'll get you in the ballpark, but like any other inflator I would recommend overshooting your target pressure by a few PSI and then bleed off the excess when you re-check it with a more accurate gauge.
