We get it guys there are other processors that are faster by 8%, but say you already have an AMD 570 motherboard............... Do you just throw that away and get a whole new ecosystem and spend more for a measly 10% performance or do you just buy this processor and save more $$$$ like a slick dealer

It depends on the workload, but the new Intel chips are just as fast or faster than AMD more often than not.

I'm still happy with my 5950x purchase last month. I pay for my electricity and my office isn't ventilated that well. If you review the power usage for the Intel chips you'll see that under load they can consume more than 120w than equivalent AMD.

This is more true for the top end Intel than the mainstream Intel chips. The middle of the pack Intel chips are a good bargain overall right now.

Great price. The new 12th gen i5-12600k beats the 5800x and comes in just behind this 5900x in a lot of tests, for $300. Best value of the lot.

I splurged for the 5950x. Found it with a $50 discount. I'm going to have the system for at least five years. The machine is for gaming and audio production.

I'm happy for the most part. I upgraded from a 7700k and my upgrade from THAT was a Q6600. This most recent upgrade doesn't feel like the leap that was, but how could it?

I'm undecided which one to buy, 5900x or 12700. Intel's motherboard is more expensive though.

I wish I waited a month lol grabbed the 5950x for $709 on Ebay auntyonline which is Overkilo. 5900x was my top choice. I see 2 different tdp for 12700k? What is actual? I read benchmark page is intel oriented.
