It engages the motor when you press into the drywall then disengages when you get to a certain depth. Very difficult to do well with a normal drill. So you can literally hold down the digger, put a screw on the end, push into drywall, motor engages, screws in, then stops when the screw dimples into the drywall a set distance. Rinse and repeat 10,000 times.........
