Great question, as they're quite comparable. Basically, if you want the M50 sensor in a more compact package and are willing to compromise on some high-end features (like slower high-speed shooting) then grab the M200. Otherwise the M50 is positioned towards buyers with traditional SLR functionality preferences but a desire for a mirrorless camera. The M200 is positioned towards more entry-level buyers (like me!).

Good luck!

Anyone who jumped on this deal may want to note that the 22mm lens finally dropped from the $249 price down to $199 on all the major retail sites (Amazon, Adorama, etc.). I only noticed because I'd also been tracking the refurb price available from Canon (which, commensurate with the retail price change, dropped down below $160).

Good luck!

I might also point you to a helpful post in a similar thread which pointed out both cameras' limitations for 4k video recording. I wasn't shopping for video recording functionality, but it might be worth a consideration if you weren't already aware of some of the downsides for shopping these particular cameras as a video device.

Good luck!
