Kindle regular price is $19.99, for example, this one [amazon.com] which is not on sale. $3.99 is the typical sale price.

BTW don't forget to activate the offer "Spend $25 get $6 back" on eBooks:

https://www.amazon.com/kr/d6e5aa2...49f2a9e6e6

As for this deal, maybe I'm the only one, but it's really annoying to me how these collections intersect with each other. Such as the "Epic" and "Masterworks" collections, you have to be careful or you end up essentially buying the same issues multiple times, so you have to pour through the description details and cross reference with volumes you've already purchased. :\

Price is great, just be careful if you've already bought the "Masterworks" collections from some series. You may already own a lot (or all) of the issues in the "Epic" collections.

These are great for those who are not familiar with older storylines. And for those not familiar with Epic Collections, they are full storylines in a large graphic novel format. Great bang for the buck if you aren't a completist and just want to jump into the beginning of a story and finish it in one book.

But like a user said earlier, there is definitely some duplication if you buy either the Masterworks or other sequential volumes of that particular title already.

Link doesn't work for me, but I appreciate knowing it's out there

Edit: tried again today. Took me to a promo dated October. Tried link again and I got it valid for November. So keep trying if it doesn't work straight away!

If I'm a completionist type of person, how should I buy them?

I'm largely interested in Spider-man.

I think the "Masterworks" collections will be your best bet, at least if you're interested in the older comics and having those sequentially. I wasn't familiar with the "Epic" collections until this deal, and as one poster pointed out these are collections of storylines, which can span across different series, and different years in some cases (so non-sequentially). I thought the "Venom" and "Symbiosis" collections looked pretty great, so I snagged those as well as a few older Wolverine collections. I love the old comics, I'm not as interested in the modern stuff. Probably a lot to do with nostalgia. And way less political agendas. I just wanna read about the some guy in tights crawling on buildings and smacking some bad guys around, y'know? Smilie

So what is the story on the storyline spanning years?

I think I might snag a few anyhow, because is the Masterworks collection every on sale?

Last year there was an insane discount on Masterworks for between $1-3 per volume (each are about 10 issues). It was a very, very good deal on books that don't go on sale very often (maybe once a year they go down to $4 a book).

For my money, I would buy these epic collections since they do cover storylines, but if you're a completionist, I would go with the previous posters and buy the masterworks books.

If you subscribe to comixology free trial and then cancel you get 15% each of the orders making these epic collections $3.39 each. I suggested canceling once subscribed since you don't have to worry about auto renewal

Yep, that's when I bought my Masterworks volumes. Could be a "once in a lifetime" kinda thing, but I believe the deal was after Christmas, or at least very close to, so I'd suggest keeping an eye open for a repeat deal this year.

And I totally agree, these Epic volumes are an excellent deal for those looking for more of a "graphic novel" style of collection. The Masterworks are sequential based on the individual series, so if there are storylines/story arcs that span different series, you won't see the complete story arc with just having the Masterworks collection of one particular series. Hopefully that makes sense.
