Enjoyable game for people who like old turn-based JRPGs. Story is not especially good, but it's also relatively generic and inoffensive. Much of the game's entertainment comes from unlocking new options and trying out new things. There are some seriously broken options which I won't spoil here, but suffice to say that you can solo one-shot the superboss before it has a chance to move. With NG+, you can even solo clear the game at level 1. It's that kind of game.

Biggest weird issue the game has is difficulty balance is not especially well-designed. If you're underleveled for the area, enemies will chase you, start with advantage more, and be harder to kill. If you're strong than the enemy, it will run away, making it easy to start with the extra BP. Thing is, you get full experience for killing weak enemies, and you just win very quickly that way by just unloading all your BP at the start. As a result, difficulty snowballs quite a bit: if you're ahead, you get experience quickly by winning easy battles and get further ahead; if you're behind, you'll comparatively struggle to work your way through. That's why you will see some people talking about how overwhelmingly easy it is, and others feeling like it needs to chill out sometimes.

I used my chase rewards to get $15 off earlier I wonder if I cancel my order to reorder at this lower price if I'll be able to keep the $15 off

The refund goes back to the source, in this case your rewards. It may not instantly reflect but it should go back to your rewards balance allowing you to reuse them. At least that's what's happened to me every time I've done it (covering myself 😉)

Awesome description and objective review.

I used to love these kind of games.. even still do, but priorities priorities.

Per the details you provide I can comfortably opt out. Repped.

For $27, I'm buying this. JRPG's is my favorite genre, but I wasn't a big fan of the demo. Strange because I love Octopath Traveler, which is made by the same studio I believe. Perhaps it will play better than the demo.

Not if this was a promo like 'Use 1 point, get $15 off'.

I sunk a lot of time into Bravely Second, and really loved the game and all the possibilities with the jobs.. that said, I'm probably going to skip this. I tried the demo, and it's Bravely Default alright, but I can't go through such a long grind again to level up all the classes, and play a thousand turn based rounds like that.

Fortunately my order of this game at $30 hadn't yet shipped, so I was able to cancel and place a new order to save a few bucks. I remember back in the day that you could contact customer support, and they would do a price adjustment if the price went down within a certain period of time.

Got this in a buy 2 get 1 free at GameStop. Wish I waited a week for this price. So far it's a great game, I played the other two and will say this one isn't as good so far but it's exactly what I expected it to be. It's a steal at this price though.
