Yes. $680+tax that you going to spend on desktop parts.
Let see...
CPU
i5-10300H 4 core 8 threads vs i5-11260H 6 core 12 threads [notebookcheck.net]
GPU
GTX 1650 Max-Q Graphics vs RTX 3050 [notebookcheck.net]
RAM
DDR4 2666mhz vs DDR4 3200mhz
Not a HUGE boost but still.
STORAGE
256GB NVMe SSD vs 512GB PCIe
SCREEN
17.3" 1920x1080 144Hz IPS Display vs 15.6" FHD 1920x1080 IPS-Level 60Hz Thin Bezel
Both are far from perfect if we r talking 'bout color gamut.

Not confirmed IF TUF 3050 has exact same configuration as 3050Ti meaning if it has TB or not. But seems like yes.
So see for yourself, is it worth it or not...

Maybe the SSD and WiFi/BT card, but it's rather expensive for that.

Probably a dumb question but is this worth the extra 180 bucks over this walmart msi laptop?

How will this compare real world to the MSI GF65 in the recent deal? That was a 3060 card but 10th gen i5. This would be occasional vr gaming with a quest, and 1080p gaming to a TV

Wasn't able to pull the specs from this exact laptop but for other TUF laptops using the 3050 Asus has it specc'd [asus.com]as: "NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 Laptop GPU, Up to 1600MHz at 60W (75W with Dynamic Boost), 4GB GDDR6"

I ordered the laptop in https://slickdeals.net/f/15424372-hp-pavilion-laptop-15-eh1097nr-ryzen-7-5700u-16gb-ram-512-gb-ssd-15-6-ips-fhd-display-619-99-579-99-via-epp?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Is the Graphics card the reason for the premium price?
I do not have any experience with this type of gaming laptops. Wanted to understand.

To be honest, unfortunately nowadays it's not a premium price at all.
But yes, mostly graphic card and 17" screen.

Should be max TDP considering it's a 17" with plenty room for cooling.
