This popular front page deal from beginning of the month is back:
https://www.amazon.com/Fire-HD-8-...B0839NDRB2
32GB model, Slate color, accept SD card up to 1tb.
8 Plus comes with 1gb more RAM (3gb RAM total), and wireless charging, comes with faster charger (9w, supports up to 15w charging), vs the standard 8 tablet (2gb RAM, 5w regular charger).
I have the Fire HD10 and really like how lightweight it is, perfect to use a consumption device vs the much heavier iPads I have. Because it's so light I can easily use it without fatigue, throw it around, etc. Much easier to use around the house.
This 8 inch device should be great for all around use like in bed, in car, or out and about.

Both 8 and 10 version can be great. $55 for the 8 inch tablet is peanuts to have a super portable tablet for media consumption. Can't beat the value of $130 to have both a 10in and 8in tablet that are great media consumption devices.
This is one of those no brainer decisions to get something so low cost but super useful. $75 for the 10in tablet was a no brainer. $55 for this 8in tablet should be a no brainer as well.
My Fire 8 Plus tablet is arriving today and I look forward to setting it up and use as a video consumption device anywhere I go...I'll throw it in my bag and have it with me so I can chill with it anytime, anywhere.

I expect the 8 to be a bit slower but for watching videos and such it won't matter. The Fire 10 HD (non-plus version) is pretty snappy. The 8 shouldn't be that much different based on the video that tests both side by side.
