Wait till you have to build this thing! Pain in the butt, if buying for a gift pre build it.

I have this exact kitchen for my two boys.

Here's a public service announcement for parents who plan to buy this for the kids. If you put this on your wooden floor, make sure you do not move this kitchen by sliding it because the pegs on the bottom of the kitchen set will scratch it. Ask me how I know. The kitchen unit itself is probably approximately 30 to 40 lb. My kids were moving the kitchen one day and was pushing it from one side to the other and left a very deep gash on my kitchen wooden floor.
Thanks for this comment. I have wooden floors. I will be sure to put some pads on the bottom!

As somebody who spent a very long time on Christmas Eve putting this together alone until 2:30 a.m., I would highly recommend anybody considering this to either build it ahead of time or have somebody help. It's a lot for one person, and yes, even if you're good with tools/putting things together.

Edit: read through earlier comments and my warning was not the only one! Glad other people agree haha

This. I did a little bit of this over a few days. But still spent a chunk of my time Christmas Eve doing this.

Agreed, I spent hours on Xmas Eve cursing this thing… it takes forever

I had a friend tell me it took them 2 hours to build, and I thought that was crazy, so I timed myself. I put it together in just over 1 hour. (My wife took my daughter to the mother-in-laws house for dinner so I could move quick and make noise all I wanted). I really won on both counts.

Own this for the kid. He loooooves it. Quality set.

I even emailed kidkraft earlier this year asking about replacement doors and a sink for this model.. something was screwed up on the website and they wouldn't let me order anything.

Kidkraft sent me all new doors, hardware, etc… for free. Outstanding customer service.

After the incident I have felt pads installed on the bottom of the kitchen toy. Again. I'm not sure if I installed it correctly. Maybe it's user error but just be very wary because you don't want your kitchen floors to be scratched, especially if it's wood like mine. Good luck and happy holidays.

I bought this similar one last year. My daughter (now 2.5) still loves it.

As others have and will comment, these will take a while to put together. Was a solid 4 hours for me, and am pretty capable with these kinds of things.

It's also very high quality, so much kcer than the cheapo plastic ones. It's not a statement piece in the house, but it'll be up for a while and feel confident it'll last the long haul

We got to teach children when they are young that placing a microwave above stove burners is normal, and that kitchens are for looking at, not cooking.

So glad when I was a kid I was given interactive toys and puzzles, not useless kitchens like this, dorky GI Joe dolls, and spiderman beds, all which give kids a sense of accomplishment for not doing a thing.

IKEA kitchen can be modified to run real water. Is it possible to modify this to run real running water using 5-gallon facet?

can any of these be converted so the sink runs to give illusion its real running water?
I have a friend that did exactly that with this.
