I have this exact kitchen for my two boys.

Here's a public service announcement for parents who plan to buy this for the kids. If you put this on your wooden floor, make sure you do not move this kitchen by sliding it because the pegs on the bottom of the kitchen set will scratch it. Ask me how I know. The kitchen unit itself is probably approximately 30 to 40 lb. My kids were moving the kitchen one day and was pushing it from one side to the other and left a very deep gash on my kitchen wooden floor.

Yes! I did the same thing with these pucks by putting them in the fridge, freezer, oven and microwave (we have the older model kitchen that had no lights). I just modified it by removing the light sensor so that they turned on with only motion. Then stocked up on eneloop AAA batteries.

As somebody who spent a very long time on Christmas Eve putting this together alone until 2:30 a.m., I would highly recommend anybody considering this to either build it ahead of time or have somebody help. It's a lot for one person, and yes, even if you're good with tools/putting things together.

Edit: read through earlier comments and my warning was not the only one! Glad other people agree haha
