Picked up the 3080 with edu discount. Used an old .edu I had. Worked no problem.

One thing I'm just struggling with is the markup on those GPU's ...on a prebuilt. They want +$820 for a 3080. $670 for a 3070. There is zero reason for this, HP is just gouging.

I know, I know, you can't get them but its like smacking you in the face with it.

I've bought two prebuilt over the year. One was LHR the other was not. My guess is it's probably a lottery. They have a stash of components and it's luck of the draw when yours is made

Seems to be non-LHR. got one last week at full price. Mining at close to 100 MH/s on it with Nicehash.

Had to leave the side panel open to get better cooling though.

Every prebuilt is almost guaranteed to have a LHR GPU now, unless you're really lucky. The only cards that aren't LHR now are the Founder's Edition cards made by Nvidia, and those are sold exclusively at Best Buy (not in prebuilts). The other board manufacturers haven't made a non-LHR card in months. With the way GPU stock is, it's pretty unlikely any prebuilt manufacturer have much old stock of the non-LHR GPU's lying around. If you want a non-LHR Nvidia GPU, a FE card from Best Buy is pretty much your only choice.

Nice, perfectly uses my chase freedom 5% for paypal and looks like there's a cb website that adds 4%.

Should bring the grand pretax total down to around $1,450. Killer deal for a 3080 with 5600x

EDIT: Looks like no CB on EPP orders so probably down to around $1,500.

If you signed up on HP.com with a code to such a perks program, to where you get some automatic discounts when you login, it won't allow the coupons listed to be applied.

Should work the same way, but I don't have an EDU to very with so I'm just repeating what others have stated. Did you log in to hp.com using your .edu email and then use the 10gamer2021 code?
