Wow, after a lot of people just a couple of days ago bought their deal, they now throw in a free case? I guess they like people making returns. I'll do that if GameStop matches the deal.
It appears the the credit works on anything sold by Amazon, and digital only refers to the fact that you won't have a physical gift card/code in your hands.
I ordered the headset on Sunday and got it for $299.99 with the $50.00 Credit on Amazon orders. This deal came out, and pushed customer service for a one time credit of $49 to buy the carrying case. They honored it and I instead bought this bundle: Elite Strap w/ Battery + Case for $129.99.
Using both the credit from my first order (which I got after shipping) and the case credit for $49, I got the order down to $30.00 for the case AND the elite battery strap (which I was going to buy anyways).
Quest 2: $299.99
Case + Battery Strap: $129.99
BF Credit: -$50.00
Case Credit: -$49.00
Total: $330.98
Also toss in the 5% Discover CashBack somewhere there too
How did you manage to convince them for the additional 49$ gc. All I am hearing is please return your order and get a new one. Any tips?
YMMV I asked amazon customer service to order the case separately and they said they'd issue a refund for the case once it got delivered to match the bundle price.
This is an insane deal on a great device. Remember it's just a stereoscopic monitor so approach it with that mentality and beware of people who've never used it trying to review it based on the name on the box
The bottom line is visual clarity and use as PC display
I just got off with Amazon customer service and they issued a replacement for the whole purchase so that I can get the case. Looks like there's multiple ways this can get handled depending on the representative you get.
Edit: So it turns out the rep ordered the same exact one as my previous order and did not include the case. After 30 minutes with another rep, I was able to get a case ordered separately. I asked for a credit and they told that was a no go. Not sure how everyone else got the credit but it is very rep dependent.

Originally ordered through Target (due to added Red Card savings).
Spoke to Target customer support to see if they would match this deal, and they said they would not, however, they did offer me a $49 credit (the cost of the carrying case) instead. Since I didn't necessarily want the carrying case, I'm happy to accept the $49 refund instead (plus it saves me the hassle of having to return the item).
Worth a shot if anyone else is in the same predicament I was.
Thanks for posting! I was in the same scenario. I just assumed they wouldn't but based on your success I called them and they also gave me $50 credit for the case
I did notice that the insurance offered by Amazon looks to be better. Target was $39 for 2 years and Amazon offers 3 years for $34
I didn't want to go through all the hassle of returning so I just accepted the credit and moved on but if you're interested in the insurance the Amazon deal is way better all together
