It appears the the credit works on anything sold by Amazon, and digital only refers to the fact that you won't have a physical gift card/code in your hands.

As for straps, I just received this one which comes with a hot swappable battery. Its really balanced so takes the pressure off the front of the face. For $60 it beats the price of the elite battery strap from oculus.

Spent probably 10 minutes back and forth and got no where on the 50.00 credit. They wanted me to send it back and order again, but when I went to order another it says limit reached and won't let you order a second unit.
So the CS rep had me order a case and made a note to have it refunded without need for return (I have to go back and explain this but supposedly the note is there). Better than nothing.

Did you talk to CS rep when the deal was still active or when it went OOS? I'm thinking that by the time I get a hold of someone, the deal goes OOS and they could just say something like "price changes"

Same. I did a test return of the 1st order. Then I tried to buy it again and it wouldn't let me due to limit reached. They offered me $15.....
