If you have gmail and your account hasn't been inactive for 30 days, use the +1 trick. So if your account is [email protected], create a new Hulu account at [email protected]. It's the same account on your end but Hulu will see it as a different email address.

Good deal. Just want to take the time to say that the number of commercials that you have to sit through on their regularly priced ad supported plan os nuts. I could see 1 1:30 minute break during an episode, but there are like 4 during a 40 minute episode.

Just make another account with a different email. I go back and forth each year.

How does the frequency/duration compare to "over the air" tv stations? I can't tolerate and only watch "over the air" tv when visiting my elderly father.. it drives me crazy 😝

I do like some Hulu shows though.
I never watch live TV, always recordings, and recorded OTA TV, nothing can stop you from fast forwarding through commercials.

I'll probably just add this to HAVE it, and stop paying the 10.99 a month I have for no ads. But frankly WHY can't they just come up with a deal for $50 a year, prepay for no ads. I'd buy that in an instant. The ads really ARE horrendous after 20+ years of DVR usage and streaming conditioning.

Worse than live tv ads. ESP if you watch 20 mins shows. It has 4 ads for each episode and each is 1.5mins. The last one is just for 30s of the show and credit but usually the last 30s of the show is important so basically you watch more ads than show. I canceled it after the trial. Just not worth wasting my time and the ads free is too expensive for the show they havd
The first sentence is completely wrong as are the echoing comments. Broadcast network tv shows average about 23 minutes of show content and 7 minutes of total network and local commercials. One hour shows are a split of 45 minutes/15 minutes. Shows like big bang theory and young sheldon sometimes have as little as 18 minutes of content and 12 minutes of commercials! Even at four 1:30 breaks in a show you watch one minute LESS than on broadcast tv. Oftentimes shows on hulu have shorter breaks or options to watch only one break at the beginning. And the last break is often just before credits only so if you know the pattern of the show youare watching you know you can skip that break. Just don't skip any credits in What We Do In The Shadows.

Should breaks be shorter since we pay a fee to hulu already? That's a different debate. In this topic, there is no debate. I've worked at local affiliates for years in on air capacities and see timing sheets for shows all day and i know this for a fact. I can't vouch for commercial time in cable shows like the walking dead.

So any emails sent to the slickdeals+1 will still go to the regular slickdeals email account?
Yes. You can email yourself this way to test it out before creating an account.

This didn't work for me. Hulu said I was ineligible even though I created an account by adding +1 to my gmail address.
People here have reported that you need a different credit card also, that may be why.

I am still a few days away from the last years deal expiring. Can I use this trick for this new deal? Now or need to wait until the current deal expires?
Right no need to wait.

If you are having trouble - try a different payment method. I realized I was using the same credit card as the current subscription (even though it was a different account). As soon as I switched cards it worked for me.
Same, I tried to use the same PayPal account as my previous account and it said that I was ineligible. I put it on my debit card and it worked fine.

This worked great. I then used a new virtual CC number. One question. Is there any way to transfer over what shows you've watched to the new account? Thanks.
No it's a new account.

Same here! My 1.99 was due 11/28. Canceled and restarted on the previous one I had 1.99 last year. Never thought I would get .99
This is awesome!

Not sure why you are bummed out. A new email is always free (or the +1 trick)
It may be better to change email on existing account (maybe using the +1 trick) and then sign up under your primary email once again. Any devices already set-up with the current email won't have to be set-up again.
