American media, including the right and the left and a bunch of alternative media, is a cesspool. My $0.02: Don't fanboy one news source. Stay away from editorial sections or garbage pieces with no research or independent sourcing. There are still good investigative pieces in the WSJ, NYT, and WP but there's a lot of clickbaity crap in them too. It's a shame papers this day and age still feel the need to publish editorial opinion pieces and fuel the culture war on both sides.

Every time I make the mistake of clicking on one of these discussions I feel my IQ dropping.
People tend to confuse the far right with the right and the far left with the left. Not the same things, at all. They only seem so to the uninformed.

Anyway, thanks for this, OP. After several years of having to keep hunting down those $1/mo offers, and occasionally forgetting to and paying $10, this is nice. I don't necessarily like or agree with everything I read in it, but it's good to have several sources of news and opinion to help me decide for myself what's going on.

Wasn't there a time when people wanted objective reporting so they could have information to decide for themselves?
There was a brief window of time post-WWII when this arguably was the case. But historically, no, there was not.

Did you even read the article you cited? Sounds like Washington Post is pretty middle of the road, especially compared to some other crazy shit people are consuming.

"A February 2020 AllSides blind bias survey found that the Washington Post maintains a Lean Left bias, though close to Center."
No worries dude, they deleted my post.

Which newspaper should I read to get fair and unbiased reporting?
As long as you care about news and not opinions, pick any from NYT, WSJ, LAT or WaPo. I found all of them are very good.

As respected Canadian newsmagazine Macleans pointed out 4 years ago in its "Divided States of America" story, the US has devolved essentially into 2 separate extremely polarized ethnic groups that utterly despise each other. This is the reason for the trolling on deals like these.

Unfortunate reality.

I'd suggest reading some pieces from each of the major English-based outlets and deciding for yourself which ones seems most accurate, substantive and reliable. Not just newspapers but also web, TV, cable and radio-based outlets, and not just US but any available in English (or any other language you're proficient in), especially the UK but also elsewhere. If you ask for specific recs then you're going to get biased ones. This is something every person has to work on for themselves.

Hmm i wanna see if im getting this right to sign up for two years...

Sign up for one year, get charged $10 now

Once account is setup, click Cancel Sub, then "Promotion Ended" as reason, get offered a second year for $10, then it'll charge $10 again in November 2022

So two years for $20?

You can get the $9.99 rate for a second year if you cancel today and put the reason "promotion ended"
I just signed up for this on my recently lapsed monthly subscription. Are you saying that if I now cancel it, even if it's not going to end till 11/22/22, they'll then offer me a 2nd year also for $10, for a total of 2 years for $20?
