I am a high handicapper but have a lot of friends who are into golf. Basically the 7 iron is the club that is typically used to teach proper swing technique, which can be transferred to most other clubs. Driver is unique and can be the most challenging club.

Basically learning a 7 iron can help you hit most of your bag. Learning to hit driver doesn't help as much.

Maybe this is the answer so in for the driver/7iron combo for $187. Should win enough from my golfing buddies to cover this purchase. Thumbs up for any good golfing post as usual.

Not a bad deal… you'd be lucky to get a used one on eBay for 85$ before tax according to sold listings. Usually around the 90-95 mark with shipping pre tax.

Pulled the trigger on one… no tax to KS. Also offered me the wedge and driver combo for an additional 169$ after checkout, declined. Then they offered me the Driver alone for 119$ In case you want that too… it's cheaper to go with the combo and the BF code from the jump but I am not sure if they let you add the code to the post-checkout offers, prob not.

Thumb up for a golf deal, but you could probably make one yourself by getting a very soft shaft and installing them on your old clubs at a local golf shop. Probably much cheaper, no?
