A bit conflicted. I just bought the Walmart 699.99 deal for Ideapad Slim 7i Pro / Core I5 11300H / 256GB /90hz refresh.
Granted processor is in whole different league, i5 1130H vs i7 1165G7. Is 90hz refresh a big deal ? Also think this screen is 500 nits/4k vs 400nits/2.8k on the 7i, although the 7i has a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Also 256GB SSD vs 512GB on this 9i.
But the cost differential pretty sizable, 700 + Chase 5% CB on Walmart purchases, vs 999.99.
Is the 9i worth the ~300 extra ?

Processor is not in whole different league my friend. i7-11300H is a gimmick processor to make people think that they belongs to proper H series which they are not. They are just the same U series Processor with higher 35W TGP and limited to 4 cores only. There are plenty of Laptops like HP Envy 14 with i7-1165G7 with higher TDP set by manufacturer, performs similar to these H35 series processors.

Honestly I think the Walmart i5 is the best bang for the buck from the OPs other deal thread:

Awesome, thx mate! So sounds like CPU performance difference will be negligble, in which case go with the walmart 7i pro being the better deal ? Whats your thoughts on the other differences ?

I will go for Walmart deal. Build quality and sturdiness are similar and for 14" display, that 2.8K resolution is plenty and you'll get better battery life as 4K kills battery life quickly. I think the 90Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio will provide you better experience and work experience than a 16:9 4k 60 Hz panel. Add the battery life too.

Big time BS when you think you found a deal and then later comes another that looks like it might be better. We need to do our research and not get suckered for a few bucks.

Got this (i7-1185g7, 4k) as a work laptop a couple months ago for ~$1300. It's a nice, premium machine but I would go with the 7i just cause the touchpad is horrendous on this. Almost exclusively use it with a wired mouse and need a USB-C dongle to do that.

Thanks for the feedback. The touchpad was one of the perceived selling points of this laptop. Good to know.

If your Costco has it in stock the i7 for $899 might be a better option for the 1TB SSD and the extended warranty.
