This is a great tool for anything in the engine bay. The #1 setting is similar to a quarter inch impact for finesse and the #3 will take car lugs off even with the small 2amp hour battery. My only complaint is it's tough getting a socket on and off, I leave a small extension on this tool to make things easier.

This is definitely my favorite tool second to their og nonfuel electric ratchet

I have this and actually currently using it at work, very good tool and very good price, if you buy this I highly recommend getting at least a 4.0 battery or bigger to get the full 250 ft lbs of torque

The reason why is because the 1/2" sockets will generally apply more torque with heavier 1/2" sockets. In addition, the 1/2" sockets go up in range higher than the 3/8". For example, most 3/8" impact socket sets go from 8mm to 19mm. Generally small fasteners don't need high torque to remove and I would be hesitant to use high torque on them anyways. The 1/2" socket sets give you more flexibility since covers a wider range of socket sizes going up in size... they even down to 8mm if you want.

I'm curious, the only impact wrench I've used is my Craftsman C3 1/2" brushed 300 ft-lb with a 4Ah battery. It gets most fasteners off, certainly every lug nut I've tried, but has failed a few times, most notably on a Camry steering rack subframe bolt and 4G63 camshaft sprocket bolts, so I had to use a breaker bar with cheater pipe. On paper the Craftsman has 50 ft-lb more than this, but in real world use with a high enough capacity battery on full charge, could this match or outdo the Craftsman? I've seen it go as high as 350ft-lb breaking fasteners, possibly higher, on some YouTube tests.

I'd think that for random around the house work like putting up shelves, installing a garage door opener or even building a deck an impact driver or drill/driver kit might be more useful as this would likely be overkill and you'd need adapters to use Phillips head screws. You can buy the impact driver version of this in a kit with a 2Ah batter, charger and case at HD for around $100. Less powerful, but less power generally needed around the house.
