It sure is a good thing that no one out there has any different taste in movies than you. Thankfully they can avoid this sale!

Great deal, thanks!

I can't answer your exact question, but I got the 4k blurays and even compared head to head with the HD blurays it's difficult to see a difference in resolution at all. I've upgraded a lot of my movies to 4k discs, but Harry Potter was not worth it, IMHO. My personal advice is to save your money.

Thanks OP, been waiting quite a while for a great deal on this set! I wasn't familiar with FanFlix, but checkout with PayPal was super easy - and (thankfully) didn't even require me to create an account with FanFlix or anything. Redemption of codes with MoviesAnywhere was just a few quick clicks between browser tabs in FF and MA. All showed up immediately in my Vudu account. Thanks!

No, not anymore. It was removed after the initial release. If you find one in the wild that says digital in the banner, you might get lucky even though the date indicates they're expired.

The first couple of films are 4K new scans, the others aren't. I wouldn't expect to be wow'd.

Fair warning, all of the Charlie Brown holiday specials are being upgraded to 4K shortly. So don't buy in HD quality here. I also previously paid too much for these DC superhero movies, as I didn't think WB would discount below comparable Marvel movie prices. Otherwise, I wish Warner Brothers would attempt to update some of their vintage titles like Little Women to at least HD quality. I feel stupid buying something in SD when my display can handle 8X the resolution.

4K streaming on Vudu and MA is close but not quite the same bitrate as 4K disc (if you have good enough internet of course). That's just speaking on the quality of streaming in general, point being places like MA have decently acceptable streaming quality compared to the low bitrate TV streaming apps like Netflix etc.

As for the movies, the first two are proper new 4K scans, the rest are upscales. The HDR is pretty good on the later movies so I don't think they're a worthless upgrade.

Thanks for the info! I'll hold until they rescan all 8 movies then. I'm sure they will do it... eventually!

Do they upgrade copies if the quality changes past 4K on Movies Anywhere? Or would they really make you buy them again.

Unfortunately not even the 4K disc are a big leap up over BD disc. 😞

As far as you question, much will depend on the quality of your display and upscaling quality of your player.

If both are on the top end, the PQ will be are par, some may find BD disc slightly better.
On the AQ side it's no contest, BD disc is significantly better.
