I'm trying to understand what you mean by feminine. Do you mean that the fuzzy part of the hood looks like a collar when the hood isn't up?

Great coat - for $99, it can't be beat. I've had mine for the past few years and it's been great in 20 degree weather (with some base layering). Only wish the interior pocket was felt lined, and that the sleeves had an interior cuff for gloves.

I'm looking for a good coat that will hold up against cold weather of Toronto. I'm moving there soon from South Texas (talk about a change). I'm okay spending half a grand to the likes of Arcteryx, Patagonia, TNF, but spending to likes of Canada Goose feels absolute bonkers to me. I understand the concept of layering, but I'm a minimalistic person, so if I can avoid (or even reduce) them, i will be more happy

Eddie Bauer has been referred to me by couple of friends. So is this something I should consider?

EDIT: Many thanks for suggestion. I'm pulled the trigger on Superior Down Parka on BFD. However, I had already placed an order for this one on Wednesday and it arrived yesterday. I have to say I'm impressed for a price tag of $99. In fact, even at full pence this could be worth it. I'm going to return this to my local store once Superior Down arrives.

If you have a local store, you can try it out. If you don't like it, you can always return it. I have this brand down coat, parka, jacket for my whole family. I would say it worth it. Good quality. Affordable price.

My whole family now wears Eddie Bauer parkas and they all love them. I strongly believe they're the best bang for your buck in terms of comfort, looks, ease of care, and overall satisfaction. Try it for yourself!

At this time of year, 50% off on winter, and 60% off on fall is slick. This is better.
Sweeten it with an extra $10 off. If you don't have the code, you can buy it n SD r ebay for a buck.

To address your specific situation, even though Toronto weather is colder than that of south Texas, it's generally milder than the rest of Canada. (gets colder as you venture away from the lake). Because of that, and because Toronto temperatures tend t fluctuate during the day, you need t dress in layers, minimalist or not.
If you expect to stay within the Toronto area, the jacket in the OP ought to suffice.
It's good value as well.

Can this be worn without that fur? I think the hood is removable too?
