I wish they had local stores to try these out. I didn't care for the original, but I'm interested in the newer versions. It was a pain to receive it, try it, and arrange pickup for a bed that didn't work for us.

There's stories of their mattresses deteriorating into a fine purple dust. When a YouTuber called them out on it they sent him a cease-and-desist letter. After seeing that I haven't looked at their way.

I believe one of the big box stores (I think Macy's) carries Purple mattresses in their stores. Although when I went to look 3 years ago, I believe they only had one firmness level, not the whole lineup.
Do they have a really high profit margin? 3k for a mattress seems too high with the materials involved
Yea. Most mattress in box costs at most 100-150 but returns make it expensive. The margins are around 70-80
And never trust any mattress review site for this matter. The commission per sale is in $100s of dollar's. I bought Tuft and Needle and it works for me. You can buy almost any name brand mattress on Amazon like those Zinus and put a quality 3" latex topper and replicate what these offers. Natural latex mattress are the best when it comes to heat regulation but they're pretty expensive.

Probably over priced like most mattresses, but I would imagine molding a king sized silicone grid isn't cheap. We've had one for several months and like it. It's heavy AF though. I used to have frequent neck and back pain but don't anymore. It took a week or 2 to get used to the feel of it, it's like an inverse egg crate. My wife goes to sleep before I do and I can get in bed without bothering her because it doesn't really transfer vibrations. I slept on our cheap foam/spring mattress from Amazon (cheap but good reviews) while I had Covid and it was fine but I was happy to get back to my own bed.
I've heard good things about the pillows (like people swear by them and bring them traveling) so maybe I should check those out.
Frick. Not a bad deal if i didn't just score a floor model tempurpedic pro adapt hybrid from mattress firm for 1700. The premier 3 was my first choice.

Most likely yes, just like any other mattress. However, those molds are probably expensive AF, so who knows. But seeing as how some have flashing still on them, yea they're probably making hand over fist with low overhead and almost no "assembly" cost.

Yes i can tell you my experience with purple pillows is very good. One of the best in heat regulation pillows. I got my first one from kickstarter and later bought another one from their website. Only complain is that it is only good on one side and sometimes it is difficult to determine which is the top side.
I also tried the original purple mattress as well as the hybrid one. The original is too squishy and the hybrid one is too expensive. But no question they are way better than those other mattresses with at least one layer of memory foam, such as casper, in terms of comfort and heat regulation. I havent tried putting natural latex topper but my current hybrid mattress bought from amazon with thin latex layer is close to purple in terms of heat regulation. Biggest complain to purple mattress is that it is extremely heavy (and of course very expensive).

No way mattress should be this expensive.
Thats what I did. Put a Talalay Latex topper on top of the Mattress. Works perfect. Actually building a nice bed with Dunlop Latex 6 in base then a 3 inch ILD 20-24 Talalay. Then for the final layer 3inch Talalay ILD 12-19. Total cost about $1200. You could build it cheaper by shopping around. With some changes you could build it for 1K
Have a Purple Hybrid ( 3? ) and love it. Bought at local mattress store. It's expensive but I find it very comfortable. Seems to be holding its shape and I don't notice any significant difference from more traditional mattresses except it is more comfortable.

Living Spaces is currently also carrying them too. I do not know if they have displays in the store or not.
