I have about a dozen different Laser X guns in my basement - a mix of models. Whenever there's a group of kids over, these usually come out. They're fun

Last time I tried one of these they were ear-splittingly loud with no volume control. Which, even still, would be fine if it was only for "hits" but it wasn't it would make this constant BEEP BEEP just while they were switched on. You can tell all over the house if people are playing.

Are the ones with chest receicers better? Sounds like it would be more like regular laser tag.

I have got one set in costco with chest receiver. Didn't realize the target ones doesn't have a receiver. Wondering how they work.

Purely a guess but the pictures make the guns look different - wondering if the plastic color lit up part at front bottom of gun barrel is the receiver which acts in place of the chestpiece?
