I've been happy with this one. Returned the TSR-700 and went with this. Much better experience so far.
FYI, I recently got this about a month ago. Mine occasionally drops connection to speakers. Occurs about once a week. Tried different speaker wires and HDMI. Still occurs. Prob just my sample, but just putting it out there. Been waiting for it to come back in stock for an exchange.

I bought this last month at the same price due to it being a HDMI 2.1 model that is known to actually work well with the PS5 and Xbox Series X. It's definitely proven true for me in handling both those consoles and handled Dolby Vision and 4K 120 without trouble. And for a rather reasonable price relative to the feature set too! If you're seeking for something to use with a "new" generation console, I definitely recommend it.

Does this do 4k 120hz?
Supposed to but mine can't to a lg c1 from Nvidia 3090. Played with it for 3 hours, force labeling the receiver as a PC, til I gave up and went hdmi straight to the TV. Worked instantly. Audio comes back to receiver via CEC. Very annoying.

Bought one of these last week. So far so good. No issues that I've noticed. It's actually my first receiver. Running a 5.0 set up. Need to find a decent sub for it.

If I have no need for 8K, is this still a good choice? Love all the other features.

This is what I'm hoping for as well. I need the 3700 for the Pre-outs so I can run my external amplifiers.

I know there was a deal back in September that I missed. Hoping the same or equivalent for BF or CM -- yet to see a deal on Denon anywhere though.
I'm curious what your setup is (or will be). I'm looking to install a 7.2.4 system and it's much easier to find affordable 9.2 receivers with pre outs then it is to find 11.2 receivers. What do you use for an external amp and how important is it to match the main receiver? Been thinking about using a separate amp for the 4 Atmos speakers & wondering if that's the way to go.

If I was shopping for a mid level receiver today, this is the one I'd buy. Good mix of features, price, performance.

Count me among those that would never consider Onkyo given their reliability track record.

doesn't the receiver already has an amp... why do we need external amp again.
isn't that unnecessary

Doesn't the 3700 allow for 7.2.4? Not an expert - just looking at the connections in the rear, I see C, Fr, Fl, Sr, Sl, SBr, SBl, H1r, H1l, H2r, H2l…

Did you set your HDMI ports to 8K functionality? It's kind of confusing but 4K = 4K60 only. 4K120 is under 8K. Working fine for me with 3080Ti, PS5, and XSX.

I don't connect mine to a PC so I can't speak to this directly, but something caught me off-guard when connecting to a PS5 and more crucially a Series X. Namely, there is a "4K/8K Signal Format" setting buried in menus that defaults to a capped 4K 60Hz "Enhanced" mode rather than the "8K Enhanced" 4K 120Hz mode that has to be manually selected.

How does this compare to Onkyo TX-NR6050 also available at Costco?
I had the Denon but returned it back. I now have the Onkyo and am very happy with it. Driving Jamos C97 paired with REL 1508. My setup sounds much better with the Onkyo, but it's personal preference. I would recommend trying both (if you can find the Onkyo i.e....I don't think costco sells them anymore).

I think I was having the same issue, but I've turned off HDMI-CEC on the majority of my devices as that seemed to be what was triggering it. That's its own problem, but devices kept taking priority for whatever reason making for an annoying experience. I'd also have devices turn on and then send the 'on' signal to my amp and TV, but since those devices were already on, it'd just turn them off. I basically just allow my Nvidia Shield to do CEC right as that's what my SO uses 9/10 times for media consumption and didn't want her to be as annoyed as I was.
