Other than the ad supported lock screen, what's so bad about it?
They recently update the UI and made it a bit confusing.
You tap on the top to get the book menu which includes font adjust, chapter, search, etc. On that bar below the clock on the very left is the " <- Home". You click that to go to home page. Pictured here https://imgur.com/a/HC23Ngt
I just upgraded to the new paper white from the version in this post and I have to say my experience with the kindle is much more enjoyable now. The main differences are larger screen, higher PPI so text is sharper, warm backlight (which I thought was just a gimmick but it's honestly my favorite thing about it now), and much much faster overall.

Because the latest version is poorly designed and quality reduced from older versions

Just bought this when it was $50 a pop.
Everything seems better than the last kindle I owned a few years ago, except I'm stuck with one book not able to get back to the home page or library list. Anyone know how to get out of reading a book?
