Unfortunately, that's the standard for the Home & Student version - no Outlook. You typically have to purchase the Home & Business version, at a minimum, to get Outlook. Either that, or pay for the 365 subscription, and get everything.
No where did he mention it being free.... He said you can get it for cheap if you are a student.
some university (at least UC, and a lot of private schools) offers free ms office proplus (which include outlook), as long as you are an active enrolled student.

How do you get Microsoft Office (standalone, not subscription) for free if you're a student? Don't you still have to pay?
