It's just not as RPG-y as Fallout gamers have come to love. Once I came to terms with the fact that the things i did didn't have that much impact in game and started playing it as a FPS, I really came to really like it. FNV is my favorite of the non-isometric Fallout series. I hope they have better RPG elements in the next game though. There's nothing like doing some stupid shit at level 5 come back to haunt you as you're wrapping up the main game.
Frankly, I really enjoy Fallout 4 for the settlement building and I don't understand why because settlers are morons. I have played through the game's endings and explored the entire region but they were all but a means to an end that was me building the ultimate fortress.
