And somehow never with subscription cost info.
I figure it must be wicked expensive since they don't mention the cost anywhere on the website or in the App Store description. I'm too lazy to download the app and sign up for an account just to complain about a $30/mo rip off.

Ummm it's posted right on their page, also can be bought without the lte package. One year is $99, two years is $186 and 3 years is $248
why not just use airtag (unless you are not an iphone user).
Depends on if your dog is only in a apple centric area. Running around the woods probably won't have iPhone users around. Also it does function as an activity tracker etc et
I've had the Fi collar for about 6 months now for 2 of my dogs, got it from a similar deal ($50). It's very neat!
I have not purchased the subscription service (yet, I think I probably will) and the collar is still pretty useful. It tracks steps, sleep time and has a light for night time walking. It can notify you when the dog leaves the house without one of its owners. It's a cool little device and $50 is a good deal!
There has to be some kind of subscription for this to work, at least when out of wifi range right? But, for some reason, the website has that info hidden or otherwise buried away because I clicked all around and I couldn't find anything mentioning this.

All this time I thought trolls were mythological creatures, but here you are.
